What we love about this bike: This pedal-assist bike ensures a smooth ride with just the right amount of boost. This ensures a low and central center of gravity, providing load balancing and creating the feeling of riding a traditional bike. Its sporty frame ensures an easy-on and easy-off, making every photo op along your adventure feel effortless!

FAQs

What if I want to bring my own pedals?
Our fleet has platform pedals well suited to the trails. If you choose to bring a pedal with toeclips or SPDs, we are happy to exchange them on site. If you will NOT be shuttling back to Pittsburgh, please bring the appropriate tool to remove the pedals so that you can take them with you at the end of the trip. We have a limited number of tools and therefore, cannot borrow you our tools.
Please give us advance notice if you intend to bring your own pedals. Additionally, we would need to know if they mount using a pedal wrench or if they require a hex wrench used behind the crank arm (and if so, 6 mm or 8 mm).
Note: We cannot attach toe-clips to our pedals.

Can I bring my own helmet?
Absolutely! Please notify us in advance for better equipment planning.

Can I bring my own saddle?
Our saddles are sporty but comfortable with foam padding and pressure-relief zones. We have a limited number of foam seat covers if interested. Bike saddles should support the sit bones and offer limited areas of chaffing—bigger saddles do not always automatically translate to more comfort.
Please let us now in advance if you are bringing your own bike saddle.

Should I bring my own water bottle?
Yes, please! All of our bikes include bottle cages, but not water bottles. Bottles are not available on site because we encourage riders to bring their own to help us reduce plastic waste.

How does the bike pick-up procedure look like?
We will arrange a specific pick-up time with you. Please plan to spend about 20 minutes at the shop getting checked in (signing the waiver) and having your bike set up. It will take longer for larger groups.
Please arrive at the scheduled time. Our shop is only staffed during certain hours. Depending on the day and time, no one may be able to assist you outside of the arranged time.

TRIP PLANNING

We can help you in all things trail bikes. But when it comes to more specific questions, e.g. where to sleep, how far to ride in one day, where to eat, how to get back to the starting point after the trip, please ask our friends at Noble Invention Bike Touring. They have been planning bicycle trips along the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal for many years, and know all the ins and outs of this trail. The best way to reach them is at info [at} nibiketouring.com or 844-424-5342.
